The crew is hot on the trail of Kulis Barra, an infamous criminal who has eluded every attempt to capture him. They follow his ion trail through slipstream leading them to the planet Misculon, which is currently under attack. The Andromeda is attacked by the planet's defenders in the confusion. Demanding an explanation, Dylan explores the link between the fugitive and the kidnap of a a prominent Commonwealth leader's daughter. The answer points to a series of caves on the surface.
