Carl Lumbly (Marcus R. Dixon on Alias) plays Dr. Miles Hawkins aka M.A.N.T.I.S., a wealthy scientist who lost the use of his legs in a shooting. To help fight crime, he has invented an exoskeleton, and wearing that, he is very powerful - plus he has nifty gadgets and faithful assistants to help him.
A renegade naval captain(Gregg Henry) and his gang of mercenaries rob a party Dr. Hawkins attends - Aquino is one of the mercenaries.
